Did you ever try a Battenberg cake? It is such a delicate cake dessert that is perfect with a cup of English tea. With its pink and yellow appearance, it will be a nice baking project for Valentine's Day as well!

Battenberg cake (also called Domino Cake, Neapolitan Roll, or Church Window Cake) is an English light cake that has a 2-by-2 check patterned sponge cake interior. It is made by combining 4 sticks of pre-made pink & yellow cake with apricot jam and lastly wrapped with marzipan, a confection sheet made of sugar or honey and almond meal.
